O José Augusto tem doutorado em Estatística (2016) pela Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), mestrado em Ciências da Computação e Matemática Computacional (2012) pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP) e graduação em Matemática Aplicada e Computação Científica com Ênfase em Estatística (2010) pela USP. É Professor Adjunto no Departamento de Estatística da Universidade de Brasília (UnB). Atua como pesquisador principalmente nos seguintes temas: previsão de séries temporais, modelagem de volatilidade e desenvolvimento de estratégias de investimentos. Participou em 2018 da competição M4, ficando o seu time em quinto colocado. Nesta apresentação será feito um panorama da terceira e da quarta competição de Makridakis (M3 e M4), incluindo a estrutura dos bancos de dados, métricas de acurácia e resultados.
