In 1982, Fröhlich and Spencer solved a long-standing conjecture about 
phase transition in a one-dimensional long-range Ising model for <img alt="1/r^2" title="1/r^2" src="https://s0.wp.com/latex.php?zoom=3&bg=ffffff&fg=000000&s=0&latex=1/r%5E2" id="m_2028611046162923829gmail-m_8312360556671369339m_4675712964911465896gmail-m_8886041195268439786l0.5953828321968049" style="display:inline;vertical-align:-4px" width="27" height="17"> interaction energy. After that, Cassandro, Ferrari, Merola, and Presutti extended the contour argument for other decays <img alt="\alpha" title="\alpha" src="https://s0.wp.com/latex.php?zoom=3&bg=ffffff&fg=000000&s=0&latex=%5Calpha" id="m_2028611046162923829gmail-m_8312360556671369339m_4675712964911465896gmail-m_8886041195268439786l0.6922992409945319" style="display:inline" width="9" height="7">.  In this talk, we address the multidimensional long-range Ising model, showing that a contour argument holds for all decays <img alt="\alpha> d" title="\alpha> d" src="https://s0.wp.com/latex.php?zoom=3&bg=ffffff&fg=000000&s=0&latex=%5Calpha%3E%09d" id="m_2028611046162923829gmail-m_8312360556671369339m_4675712964911465896gmail-m_8886041195268439786l0.48676706026302075" style="display:inline;vertical-align:-0.333px" width="40" height="11">.
 As an application, we will show how our techniques can be used to study
 phase transition when the model has a decaying magnetic field.
