They will pursue research in both classic Bayesian calibration as well as our Bayesian approach to stochastic inverse problems. The work has very interesting theoretical aspects in statistical methodology and foundations, so it is ideally suited for people that are strong in mathematical statistics and probability. But we have a close collaboration with a local high tech mining company that is trying to make extraction greener by precision targeting of deposit locations and geometry. So, the postdoc will get to work with real data and applications along side PhD students and other postdocs.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="color:rgb(51,51,51);font-size:14.3px"><span lang="EN-US">The position is for two years, has a good salary and generous support. SFU is located in a beautiful and exciting city of course. They will be a part of my group, but all of my trainees receive my personal attention.
