Em dois dias de seminário, vamos reunir especialistas em *Big Data*, *Data/Text
Mining*, *Machine Learning & Bayesian paradigm* em duas palestras e um
minicurso que abordarão problemas e abordagens na extração de sinal em
quantidades massivas de dados igualmente massivamente ruidosos e as
inter-relações com estatística, ciências da computação, marketing, business
e indústria.

Também haverá uma mesa redonda com executivos e estudiosos do Google, SAS,
BigData, Easy Taxi e do Instituto de Ciências Matemáticas e da Computação
(ICMC/USP), que compartilharão suas experiências com *big data*, *data
mining* e *machine learning*.

*Bayes and Big Data: The Consensus Monte Carlo Algorithm*

L. Scott* is a statistician primarily interested in the development and
application of Bayesian methods. He received his Ph.D. from the Harvard
statistics department in 1998, and served on the faculty of USC's Marshall
School of Business until 2007. After a brief stint in banking he joined
Google in 2008.

Taddy* is Associate Professor of Econometrics and Statistics at the
University of Chicago Booth School of Business. His research is focused on
statistical methodology and data mining, driven by applications in business
and engineering. He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Math and Statistics in 2008
from the University of California, Santa Cruz, as well as a BA in
Philosophy and Mathematics and an MSc in Mathematical Statistics from
McGill University. He joined the Chicago Booth faculty in 2008.
