*CIVEEST Virtual Congress 21-24 February* -

Free registration The Third International Virtual Congress on Statistical
Education is taking place from 21 to 24 February. The conference will have
five video plenary lectures broadcast from Granada, Spain, featuring Carmen
Batanero, Manfred Borovcnik, Joachim Engel, Iddo Gal, and Juan Godino. The
Batanero and Godino lectures will be in Spanish; the other lectures will be
in English. In addition to the lectures, there are 15 invited papers and
over 100 contributed papers, in a mix of Spanish, Portuguese and English.
Conference chats will be available for each paper from the 20th to the
24th, allowing participants from around the world to interact. The online
conference is *completely free*, but registration is required at the
conference website in order to see the papers and participate in the
conference chats. This is an excellent opportunity for people from all
countries to participate in a discussion about teaching statistics,
probability, and combinatorics.

*US Conference on Teaching Statistics 16-18 May* -

Registration open The 2019 United States Conference on Teaching Statistics
(USCOTS), hosted by CAUSE, will be held at the Penn Stater Hotel and
Conference Center in State College, Pennsylvania, USA, from 16 - 18 May,
2019. This every-two-year conference enables teachers of statistics at high
school, two-year college, and university levels to exchange ideas and
discover how to improve their teaching. The conference features plenary
talks, interactive 75-minute breakout sessions, posters-and-beyond
sessions, exhibitor technology demonstrations, a banquet with awards
presentations, and birds-of-a-feather lunch discussions.
The 2019 USCOTS conference theme of “Evaluating Evidence” is inspired by
recent ASA efforts to educate researchers, decision-makers, and the public
about sound statistical practice for drawing inferences from data in the
twenty-first century. Registration is now open at the conference website,
with early bird registration receiving a discount. This conference is not
free, but there are some registration fee waivers for those needing
financial assistance.
