*Título:* Functional Data Analysis as a good tool for analysis of cell
movements

*Resumo:* The subject of the presentation is the analysis of Mitocheck
dataset using the functional analysis of variance tools. At the beginning
what is Mitocheck and HeLa cells will be discussed. The dataset which will
be analyzed consists of 22 628 genes and each of them consists of many
cells. The main goal of this research is an attempt to cluster genes with
similar features. After shortly introduction to the database we go to the
functional data. We need some theoretical support – the stochastic
processes (Gaussian and Wishart processes) will be introduced. In the next
step estimators of group mean and pooled sample covariance function will be
defined. The one­way ANOVA assumptions will be also presented. The
Main­Effect Test, which is useful for testing one­way ANOVA problems, will
be also shown. Some implementations and results will be presented in the
last part of the talk.
