                                     Special Instructions to Authors

Aims and Scope

Stats is published four times a year starting from 2018. The aim of
this journal is to publish original papers and review papers in all
areas of statistical theory, and new applications of statistical and
probabilistic methods, as well as contributions in related fields
concerned with data analysis. All research articles should develop
theoretical results or deal with methodological developments,
comparison of competing techniques or their computational aspects or
contain novel applications of existing methodologies to practical
problems.

The following types of contributions will be considered:

(i) Papers presenting original theoretical results.

(ii) Papers dealing with new methodological developments, comparison
of competing techniques or their computational aspects.

(iii) Review papers of any area of applied statistics or a review of
statistical methodology or theory.

(iv) Papers containing novel applications of existing methodologies to
practical problems.

(v) Survey papers containing a thorough coverage of topics of broad
interest to probability and statistics.

Papers should be as concise as possible without detracting from
clarity. All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal
by the Editor, and if they found suitable for further consideration,
will be reviewed by independent and anonymous expert referees. Papers
submitted to Stats must neither have been published nor be under
consideration for publication elsewhere.

Author information: Full names and email addresses of all co-authors
of the manuscript.

Cover Letter: A cover letter (addressed to the Editor-in-Chief) is
mandatory for all manuscript submissions. Cover letters must clearly
state that the research is original and has not been published
elsewhere. Paper should be submitted electronically via the online
submission website. Any editorial or submission queries should be sent
to the Managing Editor: Ms. Yuanyuan Yang (e-mail:
yuanyuan.yang em mdpi.com)

Formatting and Templates: Papers may be submitted in LaTex or Word
formats available in Stats website. However, the preferred format
asfor submitted manuscript is LaTeX. Submitting your manuscript in
this format ensures that it will be handled in the most efficient
manner. Microsoft Word for the PC is also acceptable if it does not
contain significant amount of formulas.

Abstract: It should be included a complete summary of the paper
without repeating, verbatim, the sentences that were written
throughout the text.

Keywords: They are the most important terms of the paper and should be
the terms that readers may use to search. A list of four to eight
keywords must be given, and placed after the Abstract.

Figures and Tables: Figures and tables are numbered (1, 2, 3, ...) and
are cited in the text by number ("Figure 1...", "Table 1...").
Figures should be in high quality and at the correct size. They should
be supplied in one of the file formats, such as: EPS, PS, JPEG, GIF or
DOCX. Figures and tables should appear in the body of the manuscript
as soon as possible following their first reference, neither in
separate files nor at the end after the references.

Appendices: Lengthy technical portions of a manuscript should appear
in a separate appendix of the manuscript. We encourage authors to
provide in Appendices technical assumptions, proofs and detailed
calculations involved in their results.

References: References are to be cited in the end of the text with
the authors' names and dates of publication. Citations to references
in the text should be ordered by authors’ surname and publication
date. For three or more authors, et al. should be used.

Supplementary Materials: Authors are encouraged to submit
supplementary materials that are directly related to their papers to
facilitate the review process and to ensure reproducibility of the
technical and numerical results reported in the paper. The supplements
are subject to editorial review and approval.

Conclusions: This section is not mandatory, but can be added to the
manuscript if the discussion is unusually long or complex.

Acknowledgements: Acknowledgements should be placed at the end of the
text before the references.

Further considerations: The manuscript must have been 'spell checked'
and 'grammar checked'. All references mentioned in the Reference List
must have been cited in the text, and vice versa.

Peer reviewers: The authors may suggest potential peer reviewers for
the manuscript. The Editor can select others reviewers for the paper.
Even though, all submitted manuscripts are subject to initial
appraisal by the Editor. If found suitable for further consideration,
the paper will be subjected to peer review by independent referees
under the guidance of Associate Editors.

Point by Point Response to Reviewers’ Comments: A very thorough point
by point response to every review comment must be provided. Such a
point by point response may be required for multiple rounds of
reviews.

Corrections: Readers are urged to send to the coordinating editor
notices of errors found in any previous volume. These corrections will
appear as Letters to the Editors.
