[ABE-L] [CALL] VI International Conference of Music and Mathematics – MusMat 2021

The MusMat Research Group, the Graduate Program in Music (UFRJ) and the
Graduate Program in Statistics (UFRJ) invite researchers, teachers,
students, and professionals in general to submit work proposals to the 6th
International Conference of Music and Mathematics (MusMat 2021). The theme
of the conference is *Schoenberg: Music and Mathematics («Hommage to Arnold
Schoenberg (1874-1951)»)*, which will be in a fully online format from 18
to 22 October 2021.

The conference activities include: keynote lectures, round tables, oral
communications, virtual concerts. In this edition, we will have
participation of renowned authors, such as: Walter Frisch, Flo Menezes,
Robert Morris, Sabine Feisst, Dominik Šedivý, Gianluca Cascioli, Christian
Utz, Jack Boss, Ethan Haimo, Robert Peck, Marco Feitosa, Edgardo Rodrigues,
Alejandro Martinez, Severine Neff, Guerino Mazzola, Norton Dudeque, Rodolfo
Coelho de Souza, Marcelo Birck, Ricardo Bordini, Jeffrey Perry, Carole
Gubernikoff, Ernesto Hartmann, among others.

Calls for papers and compositions are open according to the following
schedule:
* Submission of articles: by 31/Aug.
* Call for Compositions: by 30/Jun.
* Peer-review evaluation: 01/Sept. – 20/Sept.
* Publication of results: 22/Sept.
* Submission of the camera-ready article: 22/Sept. – 01/Oct.
* Compositional results: 30/Jul.

Composers may submit works for:
* Solo Bassoon – original works based on Schoenberg’s music and/or
mathematical processes;
* Solo Piano – original works based on Schoenberg’s music;
* String Quartet – original serial works;
* Flute, Alto Sax, and Cello (and subgroups) – transcriptions or original
works based on Schoenberg’s music.
