Prezados Colegas,

No dia 20/07 teremos a 2a edicao do Webinar organizado pelo CIRS-ASA
<https://community.amstat.org/committeeoninternationalrelationsinstatistics/home>
e SWB <https://www.statisticswithoutborders.org/>.

Agradeco se puderem divulgar o evento entre seus contatos.

O anuncio formal segue abaixo.

Muito obrigada!

The *Committee on International Relations in Statistics (CIRS-ASA) from the
American Statistical Association (ASA)* and *Statistics Without Borders*
(SWB) are organizing a bi-monthly Webinar Series that will cover different
topics in Statistics. The goal is to give the opportunity to people based
on different corners of the world to come together and learn some
introductory material about interesting statistical topics.

The second edition will be held on July 20th. Details follow below.

*July 20 2022, 12 PM EDT*

*An Introduction to Bayesian Inference*

*Shirin Golchi, Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational
Health, McGill University*

This webinar will provide an introduction to basic concepts in Bayesian
inference. Topics that will be covered include estimation and hypothesis
testing under the Bayesian paradigm, prior specification as well as an
introduction to Bayesian computation. The workshop will include hands on
examples of parametric inference in R using R-packages that rely on Stan
(rstanarm and brms).

At the end of this webinar participants will be able to:

•            Specify simple Bayesian models (including priors);

•            Make Bayesian inference in single parameter models;

• Fit linear and generalized linear models using rstanarm or
brms.

The event is *free*, but registration is required. Register here
