I’m writing to advertise a postdoctoral fellowship which is being offered
by the Department of Statistics at Oxford. It is open to people working in
any of the areas covered by the department, including probability (see
below for more details). Please forward this message to any potentially

The Department of Statistics is pleased to invite applications for the
Glasstone Fellowship in Statistics. This prestigious post is a three-year
postdoctoral fellowship and is supported by the Glasstone Bequest, which
was set up to encourage scientists at an early stage of their career to
follow their research interests at Oxford, one of the world’s leading
science universities. Preference will be given to candidates who are at an
early stage in their research career and who have not already held an
independent fellowship.

The Fellow will join the dynamic and collaborative Department of
Statistics. The Department carries out world-leading research in
computational statistics, machine learning, theoretical statistics, and
probability as well as applied statistics fields, including statistical
finance (including arbitrage and market microstructure), statistical and
population genetics, bioinformatics and statistical epidemiology.

Applications are especially welcome from women and minority ethnic

Applicants must hold a PhD/DPhil in statistics or a related subject awarded
by the closing date for applications. Preference will be given to
candidates at an early stage in their research career and who have not
already held a substantive independent fellowship.
