de 19 a 31 de janeiro de 2026 em Recife. As *inscrições* podem ser
realizadas *até o dia 17 de setembro de 2025*.

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the CIMPA
SCHOOL 2026, which will take place in Recife from January 19 to January 31,
2026, with the theme: *“The Mathematics of Complex Systems: Theory and
Applications.”*

The CIMPA SCHOOL is an initiative of the International Centre for Pure and
Applied Mathematics (CIMPA), with the support of UNESCO, the International
Mathematical Union (IMU), and other international institutions, aimed at
promoting and supporting scientific research in developing countries.

This edition will be held at the Universidade Federal Rural de  Pernambuco
(UFRPE), in collaboration with the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco
(UFPE). Participants will have access to an outstanding academic program,
with introductory and advanced courses taught by professors from renowned
institutions, as listed below:

   -

   *Mathematical Modeling in Neuroscience* – Marilyn Gatica (Northeastern
   University London), Leonardo Gollo (Universitat de les Illes Balears) e
   Fernanda Selingardi (Universidade Federal de Alagoas)
   -

   *Topological Data Analysis in Complex Systems* – Fernando Santos
   (University of Amsterdam)
   -

   *Mathematical Modeling of Epidemiological Systems* – Danilo Barros
   (Basque Center for Applied Mathematics) and João Gondim (Universidade
   Federal de Pernambuco)
   -

   *Markov Decision Processes and Reinforcement Learning* – Luiz Felipe
   Martins (Cleveland State University)

There will also be thematic research sessions in Algebra, Dynamical
Systems, Analysis, Geometry, Complex Systems in Physics and Mathematics,
Combinatorics, Neuroscience, and Stochastic Modeling.

Registration for CIMPA SCHOOL 2026 is free of charge but with limited
availability, and can be done through the official CIMPA page:
https://application.cimpa.info/ . The deadline is *September 17, 2025*.

We have a limited number of financial support grants offered by CIMPA for
students, covering local expenses, including travel assistance and
transportation. For information about financial support for participants,

In addition to the advanced courses and thematic research sessions, there
will be a poster session. We invite students and young researchers
interested in presenting a poster to register via the link mentioned above
and subsequently send their work to cimpaschoolrecife em gmail.com  with the
subject “poster session.”
