The Department of Statistics and Data Science has a strong tradition of
theoretical and interdisciplinary research and teaching that takes
advantage of Cornell University's extensive and diverse academic community.
The department itself is an interdisciplinary partnership that
includes the College
of Agriculture and Life Sciences <http://cals.cornell.edu/> (CALS), the
Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science
<http://cis.cornell.edu/>, and the School of Industrial and Labor Relations
(ILR). Specializations ranging from mathematical statistics, computational
statistics and machine learning to the development of statistical methods
for astrophysics, ecology, economics, epidemiology, financial modeling,
genomics, high dimensional data, imaging, neurobiology, medicine, and
public health.

The tenure-track position will be hired at an open rank in the College of
Agriculture and Life Sciences. The position is 50% research and 50%
teaching. Applicants should have a recognized research program in one or
more of the following areas: statistical methodology, statistical theory,
or data science. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a commitment to
undergraduate and graduate education, and a commitment to collaboration,
collegiality and building an inclusive academic environment. A PhD in
statistics, biostatistics, or related field is required.

The Department of Statistics and Data Science is integral to several of
Cornell University's Radical Collaborative Initiatives including Data
Science, Sustainability, Digital Agriculture, Genome Biology, and Infection
Biology. Opportunities exist for a faculty member to integrate departmental
activities with broader university programs and the profession by
substantially growing the department's visibility and stature.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the College of Arts and
Sciences at American University invites applications for a full-time
teaching faculty position beginning Fall 2023. The appointment is a 9-month
term (non-tenure track) position and will commence on August 28, 2023. Rank
will depend on terminal degree, and if appropriate, stature in the field.
Review of submitted materials is guaranteed if the application is received
by February 28, 2023.  The search will continue until the position is
filled, or until August 13, 2023, whichever comes first.

The position will require the incumbents to teach 18-21 credits hours per
year (equivalent to 3 courses per semester) of data science, mathematics,
or statistics courses, with most of the teaching load anticipated in data
science.  All faculty are expected to hold office hours and participate in
the Department's and University's activities and service.

Salary and benefits are competitive.  Review of applications will begin

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers both undergraduate and
graduate degree programs, including recently-developed BS and MS degrees in

Applicants should hold a Master's degree (initial rank: Instructor) or a
Ph.D. (initial rank: Professorial Lecturer) on or before August 28, 2023.
Teaching experience in service level Data Science, Statistics, or
Mathematics courses is preferred.
