Dear colleague,

As chair of this year's International Workshop on Statistical Modelling
(IWSM) in Guimarães (7-12 July 2019), I am delighted to inform you  that
the deadline to submit contributed abstract for oral presentation has been
extended until Sunday *17th of February*. The deadline for student grant
application has also been extended to February 17th (see details below).

The deadline to submit contributed abstract for oral presentation has been
extended until Sunday *17th of February*. The deadline for student grant
application has also been extended to February 17th (see details below).

We encourage you to submit paper focused on real data problems which
involve an element of novel statistical modelling, or novel model
application. Papers focusing on applications with important substantive
implications as well as methodological issues are welcome. Submissions by
students and young researchers are particularly encouraged.

*Scientific program*

The scientific program will consist of invited talks, contributed talks and
posters. The workshop atmosphere is friendly and supportive with a good
deal of discussion within a single main session plus a poster session,
rather than parallel sessions.



*Students*

The statistical modelling society has awarded 2 travel grants to students
from outside Portugal to give a talk at IWSM. The Toyota Motor Corporation
offers 3 student prizes, of $500 each, for best paper, best poster and best
talk (visit our web page for further details).
