Na próxima sexta-feira (*28 de janeiro*, às *13:30h*) o ciclo de Seminários
do *Departamento de Estatística da UFMG* terá a apresentação de *Camila B.
Zeller*.

Camila é professora do Departamento de Estatística da Universidade Federal
de Juiz de Fora, e também faz parte do Programa de Pós-Graduação em
Matemática (área de Matemática Aplicada) da UFJF. Ela obteve o grau de
Doutora em Estatística pela UNICAMP. Alguns de seus temas de pesquisa
envolvem: Distribuições Elípticas e Skew-Elípticas, Misturas, Distribuições
Assintóticas, Algoritmo EM, Ponto de Mudança, Diagnóstico e Análise de
Influência Local, Modelos de tempo de vida.

Camila B. Zeller (Departamento de Estatística, UFJF)

*Estimation in the multivariate linear regression models with skew scale
mixtures of normal distributions.*

In this paper, we present recent results in the context of multivariate
linear regression models considering that random errors follow multivariate
skew scale mixtures of normal distributions. This class of distributions
includes the scale mixtures of multivariate normal distributions, as
special cases, and provides flexibility in capturing a wide variety of
asymmetric behaviors. We implemented the algorithm ECM
(Expectation/Conditional Maximization) and we obtained closed-form
expressions for all the estimators of the parameters of the proposed model.
The proposed algorithm and methods are implemented in the new R package
skewMLRM. Finally, a real data set is analyzed in order to show the
usefulness of the package.
