*Title: *Generalised Poisson Distribution and Its Applications

*Abstract:* Count data, arising in diverse fields such as finance, physics,
and environmental science, often require specialized statistical models for
accurate analysis. Suitable distributions, such as the Poisson and its
variations, are essential for capturing the unique characteristics of such
data. In this talk, we introduce the concept of the Generalized Poisson
Distribution, highlighting its enhanced flexibility for modelling
integer-valued data, including over- and under-dispersed cases. We explore
applications of Generalised Poisson distribution in spectrophotometry,
sports analytics, and X-ray fluorescence, showcasing advancements in
Bayesian inference and predictive modelling. The talk concludes with
ongoing research and future directions.
