An Introduction to Generative AI and Large Language Models
Paulo Canas Rodrigues, UFBA, Brazil

November, 13 2025 - 12:30 pm - 2 pm ET

This webinar combines two complementary perspectives: one centered on
education, the other on innovation. I will begin by sharing insights from
my experience as an ASA Educational Ambassador, reflecting on the role of
international collaboration and outreach in promoting statistical learning.
In the second part, I will discuss how generative artificial intelligence
and large language models (LLMs) are reshaping the way we teach, learn, and
communicate in statistics and data science. The session will highlight
practical opportunities, current challenges, and the importance of
maintaining a critical and ethical perspective as these tools become part
of our academic and professional routines.

Abraços
Denise
