Caros colegas,
Esta é uma notícia muito triste. O Gauss e eu conhecemos o Brian
em 1989, na IWSM em Trento. Lembro-me, perfeitamente,
durante o Jantar de Confraternização no Lake di Garda,
ter conversado muito com ele e ter dito que o convidaria
para visitar O Brasil. Isso se concretizou em 2005 quando
como Presidente da Comissão Organizadora da IX Escola
de Modelos de Regressão em São Pedro. Ele deu um
minicurso (pdf anexad) sobre
Splines, Knots, and Penalties: The Craft of Smoothing
